"This series evolved from a recurring dream of an underground matriarchal society. These women were swept from the sea onto a desolate and barren land. Out of this deterioration and from within themselves they create a new language."

"I created a set in my studio with found objects and painted backdrops. Women were invited to enter the space unclothed and I choreographed a scene. The arrangement of the sets usually suggests a sacred feminine ritual and offers a mood of deterioration, which by its existence provides an anticipation of action. There is healing, cleansing, birth, blood, water, and war."
